Linked with issues 51009, 51383 & 51538. I have verified that I can replicate the first two errors on my pc. I've made my bug a P2 since it affects me with the 'Getting started with web apps' tutorial. I can build the project fine, but when I come to run the main project the application crashes. It may be pertinent to point out that this is a 'virgin' install. I have merely installed NB4.0 beta2 on my pc and run the sample projects from the IDE and the getting started tutorials @ netbeans.org. If it helps, I use IE 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2030422-1633. I do not have any other browsers installed and haven't touched any browser configuration with NB IDE.
More detail re the problem: I successfully ran the start guide for apps at http://www.netbeans.org/kb/articles/quickstart-40.html I then proceeded to run the start guide for web apps @ http://www.netbeans.org/kb/articles/quickstart-webapps-40.html Whilst doing this app I got the error when I came to the section Compiling and Running a Project>Running the main project. I have subsequently restarted the IDE and now found that I get the same error on ALL my applications (including the one I previously successfully ran - MyApp - acrostics. The simple thing for me to do would be to uninstall the IDE and then reinstall, but it seems that I may then get the same problem again since I don't think I altered anything!
Please scratch the last comment about ALL my apps being affected. It's only the ones that involve a browser. I previously was able to build and run the 'Tomcat Servlet Example' that came with the IDE. I am now unable to run this, getting the same error as previously mentioned.
