I added httpserver directory to favorites, and
expanded the package nodes. When I expanded the
last one (org.netbeans.....httpserver), the
attached exception was thrown.

There are several fixes done by Martin, which IMO fix also problem. I
tried it in current dev build and it is not reproducible anymore.
Considering issue as fixed, if you see it again, please, reopen.
