As NB mailing lists are also accessible through GMane gateway, it should either be possible to subscribe 'nomail' (meaning that subscribed users can post, but do not receive any mail from the mailing list), or postings through GMane should be accepted, as they have their own authentication process (after the first mail the user gets a message to which he has to reply to make sure that the senders address is not a mail robot). I've set priority to P2, because the absence of this option is very annoying to many users (there are discussion threads again and again from different users), and at least the 'nomail' option should be easy to realize, as other mailing lists do have this possibility.
This is probably a dup of issue 47173. I'm not sure what a "no mail" subscription would be ... we could try using Ezmlm's "allowed posters" list, as discussed in issue 47173, that is the only thing which could be made to resemble such an option. Changing list software (to something with "no mail" subscriptions) is of course an option, that would be something CollabNet would have to evaluate and do. However considering how tightly integrated the list software is with SourceCast (the app that hosts nb.org, provided by Collab), I do not expect them to seriously consider that, or at least not in any short timeframe. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 47173 ***
The posgres lists (which are mirrored on gmane as well) allow a "nomail" subscription. This is used to authenticate the users posting through gmane.
