Description Marian Mirilovic 2004-06-16 13:57:54 UTC
[nb_dev](200406151800), [jdk1.5.0](b51)

As it's described in UI specification :
http://ui.netbeans.org/nonav/docs/ui/switchers/index.html

in the part "All places with new Multiview"

----------
Properties file node with name qwe.properties has
assigned these names for toggle buttons:

    * qwe.properties > Table toggle button
    * default language > Default language toggle
button
    * ja_JP - Japanese (Japan) > Japanese (Japan)
toggle button
-----------

AFAIK it was decided not to rewrite properties module to use
multiview => the specification is obsolete and should be updated.
Comment 2 Marian Mirilovic 2004-08-04 07:20:08 UTC
Dusan,
please solve this ASAP .....
Comment 3 arseniy 2004-08-04 09:18:30 UTC
Except for the Form editor views, we've never committed to implement
multiview as described in the above mentioned UI document, definitely
not for promo-D. Closing this bug as invalid - feel free to file a
separate one in case the UI document needs to be updated.
Comment 4 Marian Mirilovic 2004-08-04 10:26:42 UTC
this is that issue, filed to be UI document updated !
Comment 5 arseniy 2004-08-04 11:47:46 UTC
Well, I do not believe that 'properties/documentation' is the right
place for it. The document was never accepted / intended as the
properties UI specification for promo-D. Feel free to re-open under
the right category.
Comment 6 Marian Mirilovic 2004-08-04 13:39:22 UTC
Well, I don't believe your team consists of somebody from dev, from qa
and from ui/hie.

HIE person is responsible for spec I pointed out, properties/ui is the
right component, I think, issue owner is Dusan (HIE).

I have nothing much to tell you here, don't close this one as INVALID,
this issue has been filed in Feature Freeze day as high priority
issue, because UI specification define this feature be done in
properties module for promo-D, the same specification was reviewed by
I-team (as al other specifications provided by HIE or QA), if it was
and nobody had any objections, I don't understand why this is still in
UI spec .............
Comment 7 arseniy 2004-08-04 17:39:19 UTC
>>properties/ui is the right component
So what about other things like tasklist, form, vcs, property sheet,
etc. mentioned in the document, are there more related P2s coming? ;)

>>I don't understand why this is still in UI spec
If it is the official spec that you use for testing promo-D multiview
impls, agreed that it of course should be fixed ASAP, by stating
explicitly what parts of the spec were intended for implementation in
D and what are candidates for future releases.

Comment 8 arseniy 2004-08-05 16:23:15 UTC
Downgrading to P3, the spec will be updated next week
Comment 9 dpavlica 2004-08-13 14:16:29 UTC
There is the following mention in the document:
Important note: These two improvements (read: toggle button switching)
are described from "Consistency point of view", not implementation
point of view.

This document was intended as the spec for Promo-D first, but then
development realized, that they can't make it all for D. So, the
content of spec is actual still and mentioned features should be
implemented in the future.

I could add this comment above at the end of the document too.
Comment 10 Jan Stola 2004-08-19 11:55:04 UTC
Marian, is Dusan's explanation sufficient?
May I close this issue now or do you want
him to append the mentioned comment at
the end of the document?
Comment 11 Marian Mirilovic 2004-08-19 12:36:33 UTC
Dusan,
please add comment to the document, then close fixed.

Thanks in advance.
Comment 12 dpavlica 2004-08-19 17:10:45 UTC
Yes, I added this note already into spec...
