Description Daniel Pfeffer 2004-03-18 01:38:32 UTC
No messages go throuh netbeans mail system now.
I seems that the mail server collapsed under
the load of sending out commit notifications
about our recent big merge.

(It happened at least once in the past when we
batch updated IZ. I remember it took at least
several days for the netbeans.org mail server to
clear up the queue. This may be the case this
time again.)

The trouble is we are announcing 3.6 RC now.
This is realy very critical and we need to fix
this this immedaiately.

Hi Daniel,

The queue should be cleared out.
At this point things have returned to normal. There was a backlog of
several thousand messages which has now been cleared out.
Please verify that this is working as it should.

Thanks,
Eric

The messages seems to go through now, but they doesn't seem to get
archived. Can you fix this ASAP? Many thanks!

Yes, confirming as fixed. I am also glad you managed to archive all
the missing e-mails since the collapse.
Thanks a lot.
Comment 10 Daniel Pfeffer 2004-03-22 08:45:36 UTC
It seems to be fixed. Thank you all for help!
I would however suggest to have a "post-mortem" discussion how to
avoid this situation in future. Any comments and recommendations are
more then welcomed.
