Description dla82 2004-02-20 15:54:13 UTC
I installed NetBeans IDE v 3.5.1 with J2SE v 1.4.2
COBUNDLE on Windows XP SP1, then used Add/Remove
Programs to install the JRE, and told it to apply
the Java Plug-in to both IE and Netscape. My
Netscape 7.1 no longer runs any Java applets at
all. Help About Plug-ins finds NPOJI610.dll,
NPJava32.dll, NPJPI142.dll, NPJava13.dll,
NPJava14.dll, NPJava12.dll, and NPJava11.dll,
but still when I try to view an applet it tells me
I need to install the plug-in. It does not work
whether I use an <applet tag, or run the HTML
Converter on it (either asking for a specific
plug-in or any 1.4).

IE still runs Java applets fine.

How can I get Netscape to run applets? I can test
my code with NetBeans IDE, but I would like to see
it run for real in Netscape. Besides, my Netscape
cannot run any applets now, not just the one I am
developing.
