This happens to me sporadically, the last time it happened I started running the IDE from a dos prompt so I could do a thread dump. It has happened again and I will attach the thread dump. I'm not positive but it may occur when I save a java file and start compilation right afterwards...like less than a second afterwards. I tend to save changes frequently so if may make a change that I intend to compile I will do Control-S and then F9 very quickly afterward...almost simultanously.

As I finished entering this bug I realized it seemed familliar. So I went back and found that I had submitted a similar bug a little over a year ago Bug 31839. The Netbeans resolution of that bug was that it was a JVM issue, and Sun's resolution of the issue was that it was fixed...but obviously it hasn't been fixed. As is obvious from the stack trace, I'm using 1.4.2 which is well past the 1.4.1_03 that it was marked as fixed against.
Reasigning for further investigation.
Reassigning to openide/editor for evaluation.
This issue is way different from issue 31839. There is save and load running at once, which confuses me a bit..
