If you using SDI win-mode (fon't know if it happen
in MDI), open a file in Editor window, the Editor
Window is OK (attachment 2 [details]). But if you then focus
another window like Explorer, then the Editor
Window is little bit "corrupted" by a space
beatween TAB and Editor's toolbar (see attachment 1 [details])

Planned to be fixed for 3.6.
Comment 4 _ tboudreau 2004-02-10 15:05:35 UTC
Taking this issue, since Dafe's on vacation.

Daniel, I don't see any white lines that aren't part of the spec in the "corrupted" screen
shot. Do you mean the bottom of the tabs? If so, that's part of the UI spec (the same area
that's blue in the "normal" screen shot).

I do see the editor toolbar looking corrupted in the "normal" screen shot; that has nothing
to do with this bug report, right?
Comment 5 _ tboudreau 2004-02-10 15:06:38 UTC
Closing as invalid - AFAIK everything in the screen shots matches the UI spec. If I'm
confused or need new glasses, or the wrong screen shot was attached, reopen.

I was ill, sorry for late responce.

I'll check it again and I'll see.... Stay tuned
Comment 7 dmladek 2004-02-11 13:29:09 UTC
Maybe I attached not to much saying snapshots...
So let me try new attempt:-) I believe there's something inconzistant...

I've created 3 snapshots of my desktop where in Edotor is opened more
files. Also Explorer has opened more TABs and VCS output window has
similary more outputs TAB opened in it.
Only the Editor TABs in some cases Editor TAB's highlighting is
painted badly.

1) Editor has focus.... As you could see it's OK.
2) Main Window has focus ... also OK.

also please have a look at Explorer and VCS Output ... everything so
far is perfect.

3) Explorer has focus ... and NOW!! There is occured white bold line
separating editor's TABs from it's toolbar, which is not a nice
   look at it, IMHO...

the problem when there is white bold line in Editor is if you have
focuse eg. on Explorer, Properties, Customizers/Wizards, etc..

I can't say I love it either. But it *is* part of the UI spec. Reopen and assign to Jano if you
want to discuss it with the HIEs.
Comment 12 dmladek 2004-02-12 13:09:55 UTC
as Tim suggested I'm reopening it to be discused with HIE
Comment 13 dmladek 2004-02-12 13:14:34 UTC
CC'ing Jano...

Jano, please, what's your openion about this problem? Do you find it
it's more defect then a feature?
thanks

Dan, could you please look at
http://ui.netbeans.org/docs/ui/ws/ws_visual_spec_metal.html

AS DESIGNED - why didn't you tell earlier ? You are about 2 months
late. I'm sorry - closing as WONTFIX. I think that Jano will agree ;)

btw. wow, did you notice that the 'strange' line has sometimes
different color than white ?
Comment 15 dmladek 2004-02-13 08:21:57 UTC
Hi Lukas,
I disagree with your arguments:

>AS DESIGNED - why didn't you tell earlier ? You are about 2 months
>late.
Look at the time of bug is was opened: 2003-12
You mean I had reported in October and because I didn't it I'm not
allowed to fire a bug?

There are certainly bugs in ide since it's first release (I'm kidin':)
but realy one or 2 release back. And it's quite common that users
reports such bugs into latest release/dev but in fact thouse bugs have
been there since 3.5 or 3.4 and we don't closing such bugs because
they've been entered late...

Try to give me other argument which I'll accept it.
Simply answer to my question:
Do you like it as it is DESIGNED?
Do you think it behave in all cases consistantly?

If you and Jano answer me on those Q, YES, then I'm fine with your
resolution. Till now, I'm reopening...

>did you notice that the 'strange' line has sometimes
>different color than white ?
Yes, sure...but this SOMETIMES I'm calling inconsistace in behaviour.

Comment 16 Lukas Hasik 2004-02-13 10:46:55 UTC
huh, after discussion with Dan:
This is enhancement for look of tabs i Editor in Metal L&F. Dan
doesn't like the white color and wants to change it to something
different.

Decreasing priority, TM=future. It depens on UI what to do with this
bug now.

Dan, discuss this issue on nbui mailing list first !
Comment 17 dmladek 2004-02-13 10:52:43 UTC
OK, Lukas.
Thanks
Comment 18 Stanislav Aubrecht 2013-09-05 08:19:02 UTC
The editor tabs look and feel matches the Metal UI implementation of JTabbedPane so the IDE is consistent here.
