I forgot to merge changes to this file. Please see the attached diff; note 
that there were some changes made (by Vita ?) from 7th April. I can adapt 
the diff to fit the current state.

Honzo -- what project is it ? The sample one or some other you have 
created from template ? If it is a new project, which template was used to 
create it ? 
 
[for some reasons, Lookup.lookup(JavaProject.class) returned null on the 
project's Lookup

seems to lie elsewhere)

I used template "New Java Application from Existing Sources".

Hmm, couldn't it be the same problem as issue #28151. The symptomp is
that the NPE can be reproduced only when you close and reopen the
project and then do 'something' (e.g. edit the file in this case).
