Description rsutphin 2003-04-10 18:57:50 UTC
When you use a keyboard shortcut that brings up a
dialog from the editor window in SDI mode, the
dialog may be brought up behind the editor window,
making it seem like nothing happened.

This is using Netbeans 3.4.1 (standard release
download) with JDK 1.4.1 on OS X 10.2.4. I don't
know if this occurred under 1.3 as I started using
SDI mode to work around another 1.4.1-induced
problem (issue 32804).

Steps to reproduce:
  - Use netbeans 3.4.1 in SDI mode
  - With the focus on the editor window, press
ctrl-F to request the find dialog.

The editor window will lose focus (it's title bar
will go translucent), but the find dialog does not
appear. Typing at this point reveals that the
find dialog has the focus, but it is hidden.
Clicking on the main menubar/toolbar frame will
bring it forward, as will clicking in the editor
window and pressing ctrl-F again.

Why is the RAINIER keyword appearing/disappearing
like a ping-pong ball? I added it, thurka removed
it, mmirilovic readded it, and thurka removed it
again.

This issues, whether it has the RAINIER keyword or
not is on the list of issues to be tracked for
Rainier. If the problem is jdk specific then I might
remove it from the Rainier list, but there is no
comment saying that it is. Until I've verified this
problem will not affect my customers its a Rainier
issue, regardless of the keywork.

I'm perfectly willing to remove this issue from the
Rainier issues list if it doesn't affect my
customers, but please tell me why you don't think
it will.

I cannot reproduce it with NB 3.6 beta. I think that this issue was fixed together with
issue #34388.

rsutphin or gordonp,

could you verify this issue please ?

Thanks in advance.
Comment 6 _ gordonp 2004-08-17 15:30:55 UTC
It works for me (on nb 3.6, I'm not currently using nb 4.0 builds).
