Create a new compiler type: goto Tools | 
Options and do Copy/Paste on "External 
Compilation".

Go to Editing | Java Sources and set "External 
Compilation_1" to be a Default Compiler.

Delete "External Compilation_1".

Default Compiler is stll "External 
Compilation_1"

Probably a core/property editors bug?

Compiler Types removed and replaced by Ant based Build System. closing
as WONTFIX
