Description Jesse Glick 2002-12-09 17:38:23 UTC
See any bug report using a modern copy of
Bugzilla. Look at e.g. "Add CC:" field. The "A" is
underscored (<u>A</u>) and the text field uses

accesskey="a"

so that you can quickly jump to that field using
Alt-A (for example). This is very useful for
keyboard accessibility. Please add such mnemomics
to Issuezilla or Scarab.

Product Mangement moved the target from "plan - truckee 2"
to "plan - truckee 3" for consideration in a post-T2
release.

Updating whiteboard.
Comment 6 Unknown 2003-08-08 07:17:18 UTC
Update: Setting the status of this issue to Resolved,
Fixed. The solution for this issue has a target milestone
of "Truckee3".
Action Plan: CollabNet support will review this issue
during the upgrade to this release to confirm its
resolution. If there are problems with the solution we will
reopen this issue. If the solution appears to be working,
we will reassign the issue to the original poster,
requesting confirmation. The original poster can then set
the status to "Closed" or "Reopened" if necessary.
Next Update: CollabNet support will review this issue
during the staging process for the next upgrade.

Hi Jack,

I have requested our internal team to provide a definite target milestone for implementing this requested feature on
CEE. This enhancement is currently accepted for future release. I shall have a discussion with the team & update on
their response.

After careful review, we found this to be a custom request to address your specific business requirement. We have
reviewed all future roadmaps, functionality, and options but did not find an area this request applied to CollabNet's
future goals.

If you feel you would like this request to be considered/implemented, please forward your suggestions to our Services team.

I doubt that a "careful review" would have determined that a backport of a widely used and generic accessibility feature
from an upstream open-source product should be considered a "specific business requirement". To the contrary, this is a
good example of a change which would benefit any project using Issuezilla equally.
Comment 15 Unknown 2009-01-16 07:25:59 UTC
Jglick,

Though we can understand that it might be required for an IZ, careful review into this revealed the facts of cornering
the functionality to be browser-specific at this point in time. Read:
http://www.alistapart.com/articles/accesskeys/ for just one article discussing this topic (topic in general, and
browser-specificness too).

Doing this is NOT just adding the accesskey attribute to the markup - that is simply one part.It includes other
implementation. Including the aspects of IZ enhancements being freezed & considering the current CollabNet's roadmap, we
marked the issue as Wontfix, however a list of *must do* Defect issues will be forwarded to the internal team.

Thanks,
Ramya
