3.4 has schema support in that it will validate xml against a 
schema, which is great. But given that DTDs are deprecated, 
the xml stuff that netbeans does with dtds should be doable, 
preferably done by default,  with schemas. 

- Generate a 
schema from the xml;

- create a dom/sax-tree-scanner from 
the schema.
