Description Milan Kubec 2002-11-22 10:18:51 UTC
Default platform should have the same name as
newly created platform, which is far more
descriptive (compare "default platform" to "Java
HotSpot(TM) Client VM, 1.3.1_04-b02").
Comment 1 Vitezslav Stejskal 2003-04-07 12:42:46 UTC
IMO, the user should be presented with both information - 1. that the
project is using the default platform (the same which the IDE is
running on) and 2. the identification of this platform. Chris, what
should be the format:

a. <platform_identification> (default)
b. Default Platform (<platform_identification>)

any other? Please, mention it in uispec.
Comment 2 Chris Ledantec 2003-04-07 13:45:57 UTC
do we even need to have a special marking for default? if we go with
the descriptive name everywhere then the user will be able to remember
the platform based on the name and 'default' doesn't have a special
meaning.

if we really need to mark default then go with choice a. otherwise
leave the (default) text off.
Comment 3 Chris Ledantec 2003-10-20 11:46:42 UTC
closing. the spec goes with option b. (name bez '(default)').
