Created attachment 163021 [details] Thread dump Please refer to attached thread dump and log file. Apparently this is related to network connectivity. So far, this is not the only issue I have had in this area, and I hope that this report will help to pinpoint the problem. From past experience I can say that the proxy connection works to the extent that I can test the connection successfully. However I have the suspicion that different network clients perhaps use different networking libraries that have different characteristics, e.g. interpretation of the non-proxy hosts lists, timeout or whatever. It has been quite frustrating not to be able to let this fast fail in a more robust way. This time, when I follow the last log entry, I find that a site was used in connection with maven index retrieval which looks strange to me: http://www.ebi.ac.uk:80. I am really at a loss as to what is going on here. The IDE freezes, no recovery is possible.
