When PES finish its work, it should return status
whether some new zips was added. It's necessary
information for uploading results to web. 
Note that exit code from java app on linux doesn't
work well.

what is the status of this issue as of NB5? is it still a relevant one?

I don't think it is still valid. PES produces zipped results to upload and
DBFeeder waits in a loop for such a zip file and uploads it to database.
