Product Version = NetBeans IDE 8.1 (Build 201510222201) Operating System = Linux version 4.4.0-24-generic running on amd64 Java; VM; Vendor = 1.8.0_91 Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.91-b14 Reproducibility: Happens every time I have found that after the latest update of NetBeans that for some reason mostly all of the text is either only having the top half of it shown, or all of the 'y's etc have their bottom bits missing so that they look almost like 'v's. I have found this to be everywhere in the latest version of NetBeans IDE running on Ubuntu GNOME 16.04 with GNOME 3.20 (I have not tested on any other OSs)

Thanks Paolo for your observations. I do not see this issue in Ubuntu 16.04.1, but I see it in Ubuntu Gnome 16.04.1 Reproduced with both NetBeans 8.1 and NetBeans dev and JDK 8 u102. It's likely a Gnome issue...
