I had created several bookmarks for some file in a folder. I then closed netbeans and when I re-opened (and opened the project) the bookmarks where not present. The bookmarks appeared when I selected one of the files where I placed bookmarks. This does not seem like a logical process. The bookmarks should be present as soon as I open the project. I have also noted that the bookmarks remain even when I close the project from where they were created. Again... this does not seem like a logical approach to bookmarks. Product Version: NetBeans IDE 8.1 (Build 201510222201) Updates: NetBeans IDE is updated to version NetBeans 8.1 Patch 1 Java: 1.8.0_66; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.66-b18 Runtime: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.8.0_66-b18 System: Windows 10 version 10.0 running on amd64; Cp1252; en_GB (nb)
I just closed and opened netbeans and the bookmarks are gone again and they don't seem to be coming back unless I specifically go to one of the files that had a bookmark. This is ridiculous. I have created bookmarks to help me navigate the project. How can they help me in this task if I have to know the files where the bookmarks were????
Actually I just noted that is not one of the files that has bookmarks but one file that is in the same folder as the files that have bookmarks that makes the bookmarks appear. Apologies for my mistake.
Created attachment 159834 [details] Video showing the bug
I have attached a video that I recorded when I opened my project. You can only see the bookmarks window but you will notice that it is empty and then at second 15 a bookmarks entry appears. This was when I clicked a file from where I had a bookmark. This does not work properly. I loaded the project from a Group (not sure if relevant). Hi, so you have still a problem with it? Sorry, I understood that it is ok now. I will look at this.
Yes I still have a problem with this. My post on 2016-05-13 09:25:56 UTC was just to correct how I got the bookmarks to appear. I wasn't saying that the issues was fixed. From the video you will see that what shows are the bookmarks of the folder "PitchBundle" but I also have bookmarks in other folders which don't show up because I haven't opened a file that is in those folders.
Ok, I tested behavior on Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 20160624-7d027d89d793) Java: 1.8.0_51; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.51-b03 and I cannot reproduce this behavior. What I tested: * have two groups : GroupWithBookmark and EmptyGroup * I close netbeans with EmptyGroup selected * I open netbeans - no bookmarks in bookmark view * I select GroupWithBookmark - bookmark in bookmark view. I also played with opening, closing projects, but it works all the cases I tried. So can you describe better small reproducible steps? Thank you.
I am using Build 201510222201 so that might be it. I can't use the nightly because I was getting tired of the random daily crashes.
Same problem here with PHP and JS. Product Version: NetBeans IDE 8.1 (Build 201510222201) Updates: NetBeans IDE is updated to version NetBeans 8.1 Patch 1 The bookmarks inside the editor are lost as soon as I close the IDE, while the bookmarks inside the bookmark panel remain in there. If I click one by one the bookmarks from the bookmark panel they are also redrawn into the editor. Basically it lacks a function that updates the editor bookmarks when the editor loads the files from the storage.
I forgot to say I'm running all on Linux.
