Product Version = NetBeans IDE 8.0.2 (Build 201411181905)
Operating System = Mac OS X version 10.11 running on x86_64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.7.0_40
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 24.0-b56

The constructor gets made, then the app hangs and I have to force quit.

Is this reproducible Ryan? If so, can you please create a full thread dump [1] when the IDE hangs? Reassigning for further evaluation.
