Description everflux 2015-10-09 20:32:50 UTC
Product Version: NetBeans IDE 8.1 RC (Build 201510012201)
Java: 1.8.0_60; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.60-b23
Runtime: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.8.0_60-b27
System: Linux version 3.19.0-30-generic running on amd64; UTF-8; en_US (nb)
User directory: /home/karsten/.netbeans/8.1rc
Cache directory: /home/karsten/.cache/netbeans/8.1rc

I have a remote machine and use it as a build host for Netbeans. Both machines are Linux. (The remote machine is 'localhost' as well, reachable by port 1022 via SSH)

I have enabled "X11 Forwarding" after setting up the remote host.
When launching an application that tries to use X11, it fails.

When connecting manually from a terminal using SSH with X11 forwarding and exporting the display environment, the forwarding works for the application launched by Netbeans as long as the external shell is open.

When running Netbeans with
 -J-Dnativeexecution.support.logger.level=100 -J-Dcnd.remote.logger.level=100
as suggested in https://forums.netbeans.org/ptopic47096.html I can not see any setup of X11 forwarding by JSCH or setting of the environment variable.

Non-gui applications work, remote debugging as well, only X11 forwarding does not work as expected.

Expected behaviour: Netbeans detects a problem and informs me that X11 forwarding does not work or sets up the forwarding, but not a silent failure.

Vladimir, sorry if I did something uncorrect when changed the priority from P3 to P1 but this bug really put obstacles in my cross platform development from Windows to Linux. I do it in Netbeans installed on my Windows 10 laptop and the target machine is a Linux server which is accessible only by means of ssh tunnel. So I can't just set the DISPLAY variable there and let the remote X program to access the X server on my laptop directly. So I need the X traffic to be directed inside the ssh tunnel to be able to debug X applications with Netbeans.

It seems the problem not in the jsch. At least JCTerm terminal demo http://wiredx.net/jcterm/ based on jsch forward the X traffic correctly.

Thank you for the explanation. If jcterm works, NetBeans should work as well. I'll try to find the time to look at this.
