i do know that netbeans GUI builder can preview to any look and feel. i applied this dark nimbus look and feel plug-in to netbeans to reduce power consumption, but now gui builder will also apply same dark nimbus look and feel, if i want to see gui builder in any other look and feel i have to preview it first. user should be able to set swing gui builder look and feel separately from netbeans own look and feel.

uh oh, i have just noticed while using any custom nimbus theme for netbeans, the regular nimbus theme cannot be previewed using the regular white one

We tried this in the past. But the way the look and feels are done in Swing does not really allow to have more than one L&F active in the application. The preview was a maximum we were able to hack to use a different L&F than the rest of NetBeans. This request is simply not feasible.
