I have the same problem, still happens in Dev (Build 201505290001), but not on a clean userdir. So there must be something that spoils the userdir over time.
Ulfzibis, could you please attach your userdir here?

This happens in my NetBeans Platform app as well (currently based on RELEASE802), starting from a clean userdir.

Hmm, actually, I take that back. It happens in my platform application, but on a clean userdir, Maximize actually works. Not sure at what point it gets into the state where Maximize no longer works.
