When user click validation on repository panel, all input fields are disabled except the repository combo box as it is controlled by bugtracking framework. There should be some way (event?) to let mylyn connector module to change that combo box enabled status.

the same way as it is possible to cancel/close the dialog during validation if the user changed his mind it also should be possible to change the connector (if the user happens to change his mind)
