Options->Fonts & Colors. Choosing "Inherited" option as foreground color for any [Syntax] category causes the text to be invisible in the editor. Looking at the preferences xml file "org-netbeans-modules-editor-settings-CustomFontsColors-tokenColorings.xml" it is clear that there is no linkage to a valid color for the foreground attribute of the affected category like "Field" or "Identifier".

This occurs on my Mac and windows 7 systems. So it does not appear to be OS specific.

I am sorry for late response, but can you still reproduce this behavior? 

What are your reproducible steps? This is what I tried:

1, open options-fonts&colors-syntax
2, choose comment in all languages
3, click on font foreground settings and set inherited (it was grey before)
4, press ok
5, comments are black.


It seems that it works.
