It appears the files launcher.properties, timestamps-*, configurations.xml and so on in the private folder are no longer being copied to the remote device, hence the failure.
I have experienced the same issue (NetBeans 8.0.2 on OS X). Tried to 'remote build' to a CentOS server as well as a Ubuntu Desktop. Discovered that if I copied all my source files to a directory structure _without_ spaces, it works again. Snippet: Copying project files to /root/.netbeans/remote/netesxcph96/michaels-imac-2.local-MacOSX-x86_64 at root@xxxxxx Building project files list... Checking directory structure... Checking previously uploaded files... Checking links... Uploading changed files: Checking exec permissions... chmod: cannot access `Drev/NetBeansProjects/tbase/fastdelegate/FastDelegateBind.h': No such file or directory chmod: cannot access `Drev/NetBeansProjects/tbase/fastdelegate/FastDelegate.h': No such file or directory chmod: cannot access `Drev/NetBeansProjects/tbase/jsoncpp/json_internalarray.inl': No such file or directory chmod: cannot access `Drev/NetBeansProjects/tbase/jsoncpp/config.h': No such file or directory The 'Drev/....' should actually be 'Google Drev/....' /michael
(In reply to mikejac from comment #3) What you describe differs has a different reason, see issue 249074. The issue 249074 is in fact already fixed, the .jar built for 8.0.2 is attached to the issue, so you can try it.

Created attachment 150899 [details] Here is a .jar that is built for trunk (development version) I'm attaching jar that is built for trunk (development version) If you replace the cnd/modules/org-netbeans-modules-cnd-remote.jar from your NetBeans daily build installation with the attached one, this should solve the issue. I attached jar for 8.0.2 to issue 249074
