Issue after formatting

Comments are being broken on formatting:  Comment is as below:

/************************************************************************
 *			COMMENT TEXT HERE BLAH BLAH		        *
 ************************************************************************/

On format is being reformatted to what is in the attachment.  Note the excessive spacing before the comments and the weird extra spacing that has been added.  I would have thought comment text should not get munged.
