output.log

Running Windows 7 x64. I installed JRE-7U55 Windows x64 first then JDK-8u5 Windows x64. Netbeans installation is successful.

Starting Netbeans shows the splash screen. The splash screen reads "Loading Cached Objects". After about 5 seconds, the splash screen disappears and that's it.

I've spent hours on this problem. Uninstalling Netbeans and all traces of java then re-installed. I've done this several times, to the point where I jacked up java and it wouldn't even uninstall/reinstall properly. This jacked Chrome up where I couldn't even get it to install java on the browser, giving me some error about it's already installed when it's not. After extensive research, I eventually managed to get the registry entries fixed where I could do a proper uninstall / install.

So now Chrome is finally fixed and Netbeans is still failing to load. At this point I'm very reluctant to uninstall / reinstall anything Java related as I don't want to jack up anything Java related on Chrome again.

If anyone could lend a helping hand it would be GREATLY appreciated.

I've attached the output.log from a "netbeans --trace output.log" command.

I also have a message.log file, but it doesn't look I can add more than one attachment.

Hello, thank you for the report.

I seems that your JDK installation is broken. But not necessarily the 7u55 but the 8u5. The launcher is trying to start on 8u5. So try to make it to start 7u55 by changing netbeans_jdkhome property in <NetBenas installation folder>\etc\netbeans.conf or by using ---jdkhome argument when launching IDE from command line.

From what you wrote it looks like you installed JDK first and than NetBeans IDE separately. If so, you should change the Component field from JDK bundle to Code.

Hello Libor.

That did the trick! Thanks a ton.

First time posting here so not sure if I'm supposed to check off "Answered" somewhere. Can't seem to find that option but my problem is fixed.

Ahh, there's the Status just under this text box.

I am also having the same problem.
Running Windows 7 x32. after intallation. Netbeans installation is successful.

Starting Netbeans shows the splash screen. The splash screen reads "Loading Cached Objects". After about 5 seconds, the splash screen disappears and that's it.

And i don't understand the solution you suggested.
