Description blhylton 2014-04-21 18:21:41 UTC
On OS X Mavericks, when using the various wizards to create a new file within a project, the entry cursor disappears and will not reappear until the entire IDE has lost and regained focus. I am able to reproduce this behavior on any Mac that I have loaded Netbeans 8 on, but not able to reproduce in Windows. This is unfortunately an intermittent behavior as it only happens sometimes, not every time. This bug did not exist (to the best of my knowledge) until the 8.0 upgrade.

Product Version: NetBeans IDE 8.0 (Build 201403101706)
Java: 1.8.0; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.0-b70
Runtime: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.8.0-b132
System: Mac OS X version 10.9.2 running on x86_64; UTF-8; en_US (nb)

Steps to replicate:
1) From the projects pane, right-click a folder that you wish to add a file to
2) Using any of the wizards, attempt to create a file
3) When ready to enter the name, the File Name field will sometimes be uneditable until you have changed focus to another window and changed back.

During the day, this happens to me an estimated average of 70% of the time. The first several times that it occurred, I thought NetBeans had hung and I force killed the application. I have noticed no trends as to when it does this versus when it does not, but I will update if I discover more.
