Created attachment 146467 [details] Profiler data while NetBeans was opening the projects I have two open projects. They're both quite big, but NetBeans should handle that. Whenever I start NetBeans it takes 5 minutes to open the projects. Until then I can't do anything, since the files don't show up in the project list. This issue also appeared in Netbeans 7.4. But wasn't there when I first started these projects. I added the message.log and a profiler file.

please note in the screenshot that php projects appear to be adding a recursive file change listener and it taken an enormous amount of time, reassigning for evaluation to php, but could also be platform/filesystems. What is the approximate amount of files/folders in the project's source roots?
