Description honzamarek 2014-03-21 11:05:07 UTC
Hi, I am not Netbeans user, party because I am not satisfied with Netbeans GUI (which hasn't been changed for decades).

I would love to propose several improvements on editor tabs (features which I really like in IDEA).

1) Close button on tabs should be optionally disabled (it waste space).
2) File extensions (.java, .html, ...) should be optionally hidden (it also waste space).
3) Not used tabs should be (optionaly) automatically closed. In IDEA I have only 10 recent tabs opened. It is easier to find a file I want edit without need to filter old not closed files with my eyes.

Agree that some enhancements, such as setting a max number of tabs, would be nice.

Can currently set max number of rows, but rows scroll once they fill. Not the end of the world, but I kind of like the IDEA style of closing LRU once max tabs have been reached.

This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue.

Thanks for your cooperation,
