Description mfriedenhagen 2014-03-19 20:19:07 UTC
I updated to 8.0 from 8.0rc1 (moved ~/Library/Application Support/Netbeans/8.0rc1 to ~/Library/Application Support/Netbeans/8.0).

After the first startup NB complains about being unable to use the JIRA plugin. I uninstalled the plugin, restarted the IDE and installed the JIRA plugin again.

After another restart I get a messagebox with the following content:

Warning - could not install some modules:
org.netbeans.modules.jira - None of the modules providing the capability org.netbeans.modules.jira.connector could be installed.

not sure what went wrong ...
do you see the jira plugin in main menu > tools > plugins > installed ? what verion does it have?
what happens when you from there try to uninstall and install the plugin again? when doing it, please check the log if there are any complaints in the log about downloading and installing the plugin ...

thanks

Same issue.
"do you see the jira plugin in main menu > tools > plugins > installed ? what verion does it have?"
I do, version 1.51. It is market "inactive" as it is unable to start.
There are no download errors, except installation one (after IDE restart):

Warning - could not install some modules:
org.netbeans.modules.jira - None of the modules providing the capability org.netbeans.modules.jira.connector could be installed.

P.S. I also have NB 7.4 installed if it helps.

I have the same issue. Upgraded to NB 8.0 some time ago and want to use the Jira integration. After it was installed I restarted NB. Same message as mentioned before, JIRA - None of the modules providing the capability org.netbeans.modules.jira.connector could be installed., pops up. After that it is not possible to activate the plugin. Version of the Jira plugin is 1.51. Tried a NB nightly build with Jira plugin 1.52 and this seems to work. But on that build other plugins I use on the released build where not activated.

I have the latest NetBeans dev version and verify this plugin is installed:

JIRA
Version: 1.53 Source: Latest Development Build
Plugin Description
Support for JIRA task repository from version 3.13 up to version 6.0

But clearly states that it supports up to version 6.0. If you use hosted jira online the current online version is 6.4.

Will this plugin be upgraded to support 6.4 anytime soon?

I had the same problem. JIRA plugin used to work before upgrading to 8.x. Re-installed the plugin, restarted and got the error:

Warning - could not install some modules:
org.netbeans.modules.jira - None of the modules providing the capability org.netbeans.modules.jira.connector could be installed.

Finally resolved the issue by uninstalling the JIRA plugin, closing NetBeans and then deleting org-netbeans-modules-jira-*.jar module files from the ~/.netbeans/8.0/modules directory. After starting NetBeans again I installed the JIRA plugin, restarted and now it works!
