While reviewing the tutorial "Working with Qt Applications" at https://netbeans.org/kb/docs/cnd/qt-applications.html
I found that the Qt Apps would build, but not run. The typical error message was a segmentation fault.

Qt 4.8.5

Product Version = NetBeans IDE 8.0 (Build 201403052200)
Operating System = Windows 8 version 6.2 running on x86
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.8.0
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 25.0-b70
