I wonder why "goto file" (shift + alt + "o") takes so much time? When i highlight a java file name and hit the beforementioned shortcut to open the dialog, it will last around ten seconds before the result list is filled out (in this case with the java file it self and three localized files that have the same name + a surfix). If i search the folder from windows for the filename, it will find all results within a second - and the folder is not indexed. My src folder contains 3407 files, so i done get it why it takes so much time to find the files? My pc is an i5 with 8 gm ram and a OCZ Vertex 3 SSD so i dont see any limitations there that can explain it.

This time i just searched for *.sql files in a project consisting of 252 files - and it took 30 seconds before the ten or so sql files were shown. Please say so if you need anything else from me.
30s spent in org.netbeans.modules.jumpto.file.FileSearchAction$Worker.getFileNames() reassigning to jump to
Try out NB8.1. There had been performance-improvements for the dialog. http://wiki.netbeans.org/NewAndNoteworthyNB81#Jump_To
