Having a terminal in netbeans is nice. A usefull addition would be to be able to select a directory or file in the tree view (projects or files), drag it into the terminal and have the terminal mode to the relevant directory.
As a workaround You can use Alt+Shift+L in order to copy file path from Projects, Files or Favorites tab and Ctrl+Shift+V shortcut in order to paste path.
I think it's not an expected reaction from Terminal to drag'n'drop. Usually terminals just insert file path to their screen. This feature is implemented now, see Bug 248097 - Support drag'n'drop in Terminal
