User XML catalogs are not imported (and most likely nor exported) via Tools → Options → Export... / Import... The path for affected XML property file: <userdir>/config/xml/catalogs/UserXMLCatalog.xml How to reproduce: 1) Tools → DTDs and XML Schemas. 2) Choose 'User Catalog [read-write]'. 3) 'Add Local DTD or Schema...' and add some schema. 4) Tools → Options → Export... 5) Select all available export options and export them to ZIP. 6) Install a new NetBeans which uses new user dir, or configure a new user dir for current installation. 7) Tools → Options → Import... 8) Choose previously exported ZIP, select all available import options and import them. 9) It's expected that user catalog will be exported/imported. Workaround: Copy UserXMLCatalog.xml manually. I'm not sure whether UserXMLCatalog.xml is the only file related to the 'Local DTD or Schema' feature. I use only the case mentioned in 'How to reproduce' steps. This issue is present in at least all 7.x NetBeans versions including 7.4 and further development builds.
Please keep in mind that not every user customization is imported during first startup of the ide or exported/imported from the Options window. User XML catalogs is among those things that are not imported/exported. Thank you for reporting
