Any time a breakpoint is encountered, the IDE should "come to the front" of the screen. When you click the "Continue" action, the debugee should be brought to the front. I think this would be a very useful enhancement, and especially necessary when debugging GUI's where user interaction is involved. Not only is it not obvious which window represents where the 'driver' should be typing (as user or as debugger/developer), the extra click to regain focus is annoying. There are additional clues as to which state is the current one, but there are actually too many it became confusing, especially when there are distractions and a disjointed debugging session ensues. I'm sure as I debug more, I would develop a rhythm of where to look for my clues, but the focus of the debugger/debuggee seems to be the most intuitive and parallels what I have experienced in the past. This is probably more or less of an annoyance depending on the particular breakpoint and GUI involved. For an example, I was using the ColorPicker in the sampledir. I set a breakpoint on greenSliderStateChanged. One small slide in the GUI, generates multiple method breakpoints. I had my debuggee window slightly overlapping my NB MDI window - Wendy Blatt
Set target milestone to TBD
I'm taking the liberty of moving this issue to debuggercore, for think this behavior should be common to all debuggers, at least by default.
