Klayy: I opened a project I wasn't using for a while. I don't have any other projects open. When I close netbeans, the window closes but the process still lives and eats lots of CPU (20% and more) - I have to kill it manually.

GUEST: project analysing is stopped to 75% .
IDE freeze

GUEST: <Please provide a description of the problem or the steps to reproduce>
background scanning doesn't stop !!

GUEST: i shut down the ide and reopened it multiple times. the scanning gets stuck at 80% each time.

GUEST: slow background scanning of project

GUEST: nothing. just waiting

Klayy: I added a project which I work with on a daily basis. It worked many times before. I tried shutting down netbeans and deleting cache but it didn't help

GUEST: travou em verifica

Is there a way I can find out which file it is getting stuck on? Background scanning is sitting at 100% when I open a specific project. It would be nice if I could find out which file might be confusing it so I can attempt to correct that file (if that is indeed the issue).

In reply to comment 2:
Yes, just cancel the scan when it's frozen, the log will contain the indexer which is blocked.
In case you have a PHP project and NB 8.0 with Patch 1 it's highly probable you hit the issue #244197. It can be "resolved" by using dev build rather then patch 1. Can you confirm it?
Thanks
