Description ssazonov 2013-06-18 15:06:20 UTC
1. Go to Tools->Options->Editor->Code Templates

-> there is no option to change abbreviation

Product Version: NetBeans IDE 7.4 Beta (Build 201306132201)
Java: 1.7.0_25; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 23.25-b01
Runtime: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.7.0_25-b16
System: Windows 7 version 6.1 running on x86; Cp1252; en_US (nb)

As a workaround you can alter the abbreviation in the persisted files.

For example for java code templates alter this file
%USERDIR%\config\Editors\text\x-java\CodeTemplates\org-netbeans-modules-editor-settings-CustomCodeTemplates.xml

Lowering the priority, because a workaround exists and editing code templates is seldomly used feature.

This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue.

Thanks for your cooperation,

The abbreviation can't be changed in 8.2.
