This Bugzilla instance is a read-only archive of historic NetBeans bug reports. To report a bug in NetBeans please follow the project's instructions for reporting issues.
See the bugs marked as duplicates. Words are matched wrong, because "*" is NOT marked as an identifier and "\" IS in PHPLanguage.isIdentifierChar() which considers where the word starts. Maybe PHP should have custom editor kit and adjust common document to better handle that? Not sure.

We talked about that with Svata cca 6-9 month ago. So imho more likely CSL issue, it has to be supported there. Maybe enhancement? Feel free to change it. Thanks. PS: problem was, that Language.isIdentifierChar can't match properly every char, without a context (without chars around it...i.e. escaped chars, etc.)
Reassigning.
This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue. Thanks for your cooperation, NetBeans IDE 8.2 Release Boss
