Dear Sir,

I have downloaded netbeans 5.5.
But when installed it is showing error as java.classcastexception error has occured.
Request you to guide me for solving this problem.

i can't find any ClassCastException in the log, just this one:

What exactly is the problem here? The exceptions don't appear critical so what really bothers you? Does the IDE immediately shut down?

Anyway, i doubt anyone will be able to help you since NB 5.5 is about 5 years old and we now have NB 7.3. Try the latest release.
