While performing update of IDE from command line (using --extra-uc --refresh --modules --update-all switches), output is logged to console. Please add logging to a separate file in userdir (preferred solution), or in standard way to messages.log, so that output can be later parsed;
Output that is requested to be logged:
1) Will update module@1.1 to version 1.2
2) Downloading Module Display Name
3) Updates=n
4) Refreshing xyz UC URL

please consider logging to be on INFO level, information containing source URL and dest folder will be useful as well.
