If you go into the project properties, and go to Run Config, then manage remote connections.

When you go to Add a new connection, the dropdown does not allow to select anything other than FTP... So i cannot add a SFTP configuration.

Please advise.

Weird, could you please attach IDE log (see [1]), maybe there will be some information. Thanks

Also, please try latest stable version of NetBeans (7.3 right now).
