Both end up with exiting the IDE. I was using previous NB (7.2.x) with the same setup, and never saw this problem before. As a workaround, I have to uninstall and reinstall the NB7.3 after reboot. Command line to start the NB is: B:\Tools\NetBeans\bin\netbeans64.exe --cachedir A:\Temp --userdir B:\home\netbeans I just tested, netbeans.exe has the same problem.
I just realized a difference, and ran a test again. The failed NB 7.3 was installed from netbeans-7.3-cpp-windows.exe. I tried a new installation using a different package, netbeans-7.3-javase-windows.exe. Then, I added C/C++ module. This java se package installation seems not having the same issue and it is working fine after reboot.
Next time you see this error please attach your IDE log and reopen, thanks.

What can you say about existence/non-existence of files like B:\Tools\NetBeans 7.4 Beta\ide\modules\org-eclipse-equinox-common.jar the log complains about. Are they on the expected path, or elsewhere on your disk? Do they have proper content (e.g. can they be opened using some zip utility)?

The IDE was able to run until I did reboot. One thing might cause the problem is, the B drive is an imdisk disk.
Marian, is imdisk supported for running NetBeans? If so, where can I get a test machine to try such setup?

Hi Jaroslav, I'd like to highlight that I observe the problem with only the cpp edition (e.g. netbeans-7.4beta-cpp-windows). The problem should be there for a while as I saw them since 7.2 or 7.3). The java edition (e.g. netbeans-7.4-javase-windows) installation on imdisk is good; and it works fine even with the C/C++ plugin installed later. I did not try other installation packages.
