Created attachment 131178 [details] Screenshot of Java Platform dialog I'm using the Dark Nimbus Theme with NetBeans 7.3rc2 on Ubuntu 12.10 and JDK 1.7.0_11. I much prefer Nimbus on Ubuntu Linux because the GTK+ look and feel doesn't display well and I love the Dark Nimbus theme, but it does have a few issues (at least on Ubuntu Linux). The steps in wizard dialogs are unreadable because the text is dark against a dark background upon the white image. I'll attach a screenshot. The screenshot shows the Java Platforms dialog, but the same display issue appears in the New Project Wizard as well.
The tree node icons are also difficult to see since they are black.
Another color related issue is that the build output window text is unreadable without customizing the colors manually.
Search results files look good, but the content under each node still uses a dark on dark font color

After making a file selection, it widens but not enough. I think it's an issue with sizing of JTree component.
Please reopen if the problems are reproducible in the latest daily builds which have built-in support for dark color themes. You don't need any extra plugins any more - just use menu Tools - Options - Miscellaneous - Windows - Look and Feel
