Description Angus Mezick 2002-04-16 16:05:32 UTC
The command PCLI needs to be used instead of just
put/get. Also, we need to us the add command and
not the put command for new files.
Comment 1 Martin Entlicher 2002-04-16 16:56:13 UTC
Excuse my ignorance, I'm not a regular PVCS user, but what is the
advantage of PCLI commands instead of put/get?

This requirement seems to me more like an enhancement, since with PCLI
commands I can work with projects, but the pure put/get commands
should be still usable aren't they?
Comment 2 Angus Mezick 2002-04-16 17:00:22 UTC
The put/get commands are mostly usable, but they don't interface with
the new meta-data DB that the latest versions of PVCS added. I.E.
When you 'Add' a file from netbeans, it doesn't show up in the PVCS
GUI even if the file is archived because the straight put command
doesn't update the DB. Only the PCLI command does.

O.K. Thanks for your comments. Thus it seems like an important change.
I'll try to schedule it to my plan for 3.4.
Comment 4 Filip Rachunek 2002-04-30 15:28:33 UTC
UI keyword added.
Comment 5 Martin Entlicher 2002-05-14 14:14:15 UTC
Fixed in dev build May 15.
pcli AddFiles command is used instead of put. There is no alternative
for get/put in pcli, thus I use GetArchiveLocation to find the correct
files. This should fix the problem.
Comment 6 Jiri Kovalsky 2002-06-10 13:30:46 UTC
Could you please Angus confirm it's working for you now or verify
yourself ?
Comment 7 Jiri Kovalsky 2002-06-13 13:12:30 UTC
I believe that Angus' silence means his satisfaction :-) Verifying
instead of him.
Comment 8 Angus Mezick 2002-06-13 13:47:42 UTC
Sorry, just a bit slammed at work. Planning on Dl/compile/test-ing
this afternoon.
Comment 9 Quality Engineering 2003-07-01 13:04:06 UTC
Resolved for 3.4.x or earlier, no new info since then -> closing.
