I'm not sure if this is the right place to file this bug but after upgrading to Ubuntu 12.04 all dialog windows that open up like the ones for new project or tools/options are too small for their content. In several instances the dialog has no width at all, it's just the window chrome that shows. You can drag the windows to make them bigger but having to do this on every single dialog box is eating up a lot of time as I try to develop.
Please try running SwingSet demo app with the same JDK and reopen if the dialog windows are sized correctly in that demo. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/demos-nojavascript-137100.html
I'm experiencing this too with Netbeans 7.2 RC1 (PHP Edition) on Ubuntu 12.04. Latest Oracle JRE
Please run some plain Swing app first then reopen, thanks.
Created attachment 123877 [details] SwingSet2 demo dialog windows appearing correctly I just ran the swingset demo on my system using javaws http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/javawebstart/apps/swingset2.jnlp All dialog windows appear correctly.
Other information: Product Version: NetBeans IDE 7.2 (Build 201207171143) Java: 1.7.0_03; OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM 22.0-b10 System: Linux version 3.2.0-29-generic running on amd64; UTF-8; de_DE (nb) Bug remains, all dialog windows seem to appear with minimum width.
Hrm, I followed the link to the swing demos finally, and when I click on them to open the demo it just goes to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/index.html and doesn't give me an application to run or anything. The dialog windows are still the wrong size in netbeans 7.2 as well. I'd like to run the demos but I'm not sure how to. I tried updating to the latest JDK but I'm not sure if I did that right, either.
