IDE hangs sometime.
I can't find that moment, when IDE hangs.
I have made 2 heapdumps with Visual VM - maybe you can find a reason to hang.
IDE hangs with the version of the above NetBeans IDE Build 201204240400 (NetBeans IDE Build 201204240400 works normally).
Tested (reproducable) on NetBeans IDE Build 201205020400 and on NetBeans IDE Build 201205010400.
There is 2 heapdumps.

IDE hangs very often, the loss of part of the code for writing.

Next time when there is some kind of hang it is better to just attach the thread dump.

..  and if you are attaching heap dumps - please, zip them.

I wanted archive, but then I thought, how you prefer to use the archiver. Zip compresses slightly. I decided to do not archive :).

Zip will compress heap dump just fine. Try it yourself.
