This Bugzilla instance is a read-only archive of historic NetBeans bug reports. To report a bug in NetBeans please follow the project's instructions for reporting issues.
When opening a large PHP project (using the Symfony framework), the IDE starts scanning the project, reaches 75%, becomes unresponsive, then locks my Ubuntu system so that I have to switch the machine off and on to restart it. I have completely removed netbeans, all the project configuration files, etc, and reinstalled, with the same results. If I search for "freeze" in the buglist, there are several references, going back to 6.7, most of them for the PHP version of netbeans. I'm thinking there is actually a real problem with the PHP component, possibly related to very large projects, or something with Symfony?
Are you able to reproduce your problem in the development version of NetBeans [1]? It would be great if you could provide your project so we can try to reproduce your problem or at least a profiler snapshot [2] taken during project opening. BTW which JDK do you use [3]? Could you attach (do not copy & paste please) your IDE log [4]? Thanks for your cooperation, simply reopen this issue.
