Description Petr Cyhelsky 2012-02-14 13:13:39 UTC
Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 201202130400)
Java: 1.7.0_03; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 22.1-b02
System: Linux version 2.6.38-13-generic running on i386; UTF-8; en_US (nb)

This normally doesn't matter, but with big heap dumps even the show nearest gc root action often takes a lot of time.
The progress dialog is shown, but it is modal, so I closed it. That leads to the state when gc root is computed on the background, but there is no indication of progress, or when it is actually finished.

Comment 2 Petr Cyhelsky 2012-06-01 09:02:17 UTC
The same goes for "compute retained sizes" which is even longer operation
Comment 3 Tomas Hurka 2012-11-08 10:08:19 UTC
The progress dialog cannot be closed in the latest builds. Closing.
