This bug was originally marked as duplicate of bug 205019, that is already resolved. This bug is still valid, so this seems to be another bug, but it might be related.

I then exit the ide, and restart it.  so far, so good.

I then install the JIRA plugin (from the Available Plugins tab), and the ide says it needs to restart, so I choose to restart now.

just prior to the appearance of the ide proper, an 'unexpected exception' dialog appears
